This property
was recently purchased together with an adjoining outbuilding.
The owners wanted to create a kitchen in an outbuilding so
planning permission was obtained to create window and door
openings together with Velux windows in the main property. An
opening between the main house and the outbuilding was created
and a glazed door installed. Drains were installed then a
concrete base laid to provide a surface for floor tiling. New
joists were installed to create a surface upon which to lay a
parquet floor to act as both a floor and a wooden ceiling along
with a loft-ladder. The old joists were kept in place as
requested by the owners to create a ‘feature’. Openings were
created to accommodate a set of patio doors and two windows
using oak lintels on the external exposed aspect. Insulated
studwork was installed on all four walls and a completely new
electrical and plumbing installation fitted. These were then
plaster boarded, taped, filled and sanded in readiness for
decoration.
Other work
completed at this property includes a full re-wire, Velux window
installation, 1st floor bathroom installation, new
water-heater and full ceramic convector heater installation
throughout the property. |
